Holiday Angels Program 2019
Date/TimeDate(s) - 10/25/2019 - 12/20/2019
Friends for Life Animal Rescue is once again offering its Holiday Angel Program.
This program is a wonderful way to remember your loved ones, help homeless animals and reduce your shopping stress!
The program is simple… instead of purchasing gifts for your friends and loved ones simply send a contribution in their name and select the animal you wish to sponsor with your donation. We do the rest!
Your gift recipient will receive a letter that explains the program and identifies you as the contributor. In addition, the recipient will also receive an ornament (computer generated design on cardstock) bearing the sponsored animal’s name, picture, and a brief story – ready to adorn their tree.
Angels will be mailed beginning December 1st and have the best chance of arriving by Christmas if received by December 15th.
Roger is a 3-year-old hound blend that was found near a construction site. He arrived very ill. He tested positive for tick fever and needed an immediate blood transfusion. Roger was also diagnosed with fever induced Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia in Dogs (IMHA). He needed months of medications and TLC in a foster home. He is fully recovered and available for adoption.
Total cost of treatment: $3,177.82
Tippie is a 2-1/2 year old Dachshund blend that was found as a stray. She had a cleft palate and needed a two-part dental surgery to close the hole in the roof of her mouth.
Total cost of treatment: $4,208.88
Willie is a 5-year-old chihuahua blend that was found as a stray. He was already missing his eye upon arrival. We noticed he was not gaining weight and had excessive thirst and urination. After many tests, we learned that he had a liver shunt. He needed surgery to fix the shunt and he is fully recovered and can live a long healthy life.
Total cost of treatment: $7,247.54
Arriving at Friends for Life with an intestinal blockage, Addie needed multiple enemas with no sign of relief. She required surgery where part of her intestines needed to be stripped out. She is fully recovered and only requires a small supplement to keep her regular. She is currently waiting for her forever home.
Total cost of treatment: $2,504.40
Bleppy arrived as a stray kitten. He developed diarrhea and normal treatments did not work. Special tests revealed that he had the Feline Panleukopenia Virus (feline distemper) and another intestinal parasite. Clinically, he acted like a normal kitten. We proceeded with several months worth of treatment and he fully recovered and was able to be adopted into a loving home.
Total cost of treatment: $992.86
Irvina is a beautiful 5-year-old female who was abandoned along with about 60 other cats from a hoarding situation in Phoenix. She needed dental care, plus had a skin condition. Irvina had 8 teeth pulled, was put on medications and a special diet. She is now fully recovered and has been adopted into a loving home.
Total cost of treatment: $1,068.18
