UPDATE June 19, 2020
The Gilbert Town Council has issued an executive order requiring face masks be worn in public, effective 5pm Friday June 19. Please be aware we are complying with this order and asking all volunteers, and any guests entering the adoption center to wear an appropriate face mask. Anyone with a medical condition that would be exacerbated by wearing a mask will be exempt. We thank you for your cooperation and wish you wellness.
Hello friends and supporters,
Many are wondering if we are still operating amid the current COVID19 outbreak, and we wanted to provide you with an update.
In an effort to keep the public and Friends for Life volunteers safe, we have canceled all fundraising events scheduled for the month of March, including Yoga with the Puppies, and our semi annual yard sale. Unfortunately, these two events will not be rescheduled.
We have also suspended all tours of our facility, as well as all classes and presentations, available to the public.
Our adoption center, located at 925 W. Melody Avenue in Gilbert is currently open for it’s regular hours of operation:
We are asking all potential adopters to go to the “Adopt” tab to fill out an adoption consultation form PRIOR TO VISITING THE ADOPTION CENTER. Please note, there are separate forms for adopting a dog versus adopting a cat.
At this time, we will be limiting the number of potential adopters in the building, during weekday adoption hours. On Saturdays, depending on the volume of visitors, some of the adoption process may be completed outdoors, in our parking area. You will see our volunteers who will be available to direct you accordingly, upon your arrival.
If the CDC and government agencies recommend further restrictions on contact and/or operations, we may move to a policy of adopters visiting by appointment only. If we should move to the appointment only format, we will certainly update our social media accounts, as well as emailing our friends and supporters.
If you would like to be included to receive news and updates about Friends for Life, directly to your email account, please contact Barb Savoy at PR@AzFriends.org.
We wish you and your loved ones safety and health.
